English and French Furniture of the 18th Century (Specially prepared for Paris DFAS)

An examination of baroque, rococo and neo-classical furniture from both sides of the Channel.

English eyes often look to France for the latest style or fashion and many an 18^th century English drawing room emulated its French counterpart in the application of the baroque, rococo and neo-classical styles. However, as this lecture will show, the imaginative interpretation of these styles by British designers & craftsmen created some of the finest elegant furniture of either side of the Channel.
